Christians in Cambodia

CHRISTIANS CAMBODIA. South East Asia, Cambodia, Phnom Penh & Battambang. Christianity first arrived in Cambodia in the sixteenth century. Catholics, Christians, Protestants, Pentecotists, Evangelists. Portuguese and Spanish missionaries were installed by the 1570's, later came the French, and now it is the turn of the Evangelists. Some groups use very aggressive tactics, others are more passive. In any case their cause is the same as missionaries the world over. Cambodia remains primarily Buddhist, though small groups of Christians and their churches have survived, entrenched, for centuries, and the new style Evangelist onslaught is now sweeping the country.
